1833

Harriet Micklewright was born in 1833 in Forton, Staffordshire. She was the fourth child of Andrew and Mary Micklewright (nee Simpson). She was christened on 21st April at Forton, Staffordshire

Sadly, her mother Mary, passed away on 7th November 1838, shortly after the birth of brother William. We are not sure of the cause of death but it may have been a complication of childbirth given the short period of time. Her father remarried Elizabeth Walker.

We have been unable to find any 1911 censuses for Havacre Lane but we know this was still Harriets address from her son Samuels army records.

A death registration below confirms Harriets death at Dudley Hospital in September 1915.

Her son Samuel, joined the army at the beginning of the war effort on 10th November 1914. He was a member of the Border Regiment.
Very sadly in September 1915, Samuel was wounded and the letter below was sent to the Postmaster in Bilston instructing him to tell Harriet that Samuel had been wounded. The reply on 20th September 1915 was extremely sad telling them that Harriet had been admitted to Dudley Hospital a week earlier but had died.
