On 4^th June 1905, Ethel arrived at Boston, Massachusetts, USA after sailing from Liverpool on the ship Cymric. The Arriving Passenger list says she was going to a friend, ‘Thomas Manifold’ in Nebraska (‘To be intended’).

Thomas had gone on to America a year before her, arriving in New York on 14 July 1904 and going to work as a baker with his friend Thomas Lewis.

1905

16 July 1905 - Marriage of Ethel Mears & Thomas Manifold in Norfolk, Nebraska. Witnesses were Lizzie & Albert Lewis.

1911
