In 1891, Patrick lived at 11, Lower Mountain Row, Ferndale, Glamorgan. Patrick was a haulier and drove a cart. He lived with his wife, Mary Ann, and his daughters Elizabeth, 4, Mary, 3 and Annie,1. They also had two boarders at their home, Daniel Sullivan, 25 and Daniel Connelly, 19.
In 1894, Patrick and Mary had another daughter , Margaret, born in Blaenllecha and registered in Pontypridd.
The couples first son, William was born in Blaenllecha in 1897 and registered in Pontypridd.
Son, John was born in 1899 in Blaenlecha and registered in Pontypridd.
In 1901, the family lived at 17, Mountain Row, Ferndale. Patrick had now become a Coal Miner Hewer. He lived with his wife. Mary, and children, Elizabeth Ellen,15, Mary, 14, Annie,12, Margaret, 7, William,4 and John, 2. In 1911, Patrick, 49, and his family lived at 159, East Road,Tylorstown. We learn from the 1911 census that they had previously had another 6 children who had died before 1911. We do not know these childrens names as yet but as there are gaps between the other children we presume the children that were lost were born and died in these missing years. Patrick and Mary lived with their children Elizabeth (Lizzie), 25 , a General Servant, Margaret (Maggie), 17, also a general servant, son William, 14, a coal miner hewer, and John, 12, still at school. there were two boarders at their home, Edwards Owens and George Grant.
In 1939, Patrick,78, now an OAP, continued to live at his home in East Road. His son, William was now married to his wife, Francis and head of household . Also at the home were Williams children Patrick, Richard and three undisclosed children. William was a Scavenger for the Council and his son Patrick a coal hewer below ground. William Condon , a boarder was also at the home.
Patrick passed away on 13th April 1940. His probate is below. He left £100 in effects to his son, William in his will.
