Mabel Barlow was born at Birchwood Park Farm in Leigh, East Staffordshire on 31st January 1894.
Her father was John Barlow from Denstone,an agricultural labourer and her mother was Ann Burton from Stoke on Trent.  
She was one of 14 children, although only 9 were still living by 1911.
When she was born she had older siblings John Thomas, 10, Edith ,8, Wilfred, 6, Hugh, 7 and Emily, 4.
Her younger brothers were Reginald, born in 1896, Jeffrey, born in 1897 and Douglas born in 1903

In 1911 Mabel was a general domestic servant at 49, Gaol Road, which was a ‘Fancy Drapery Shop’. The three sisters that lived there were all spinsters , Jane Blanchard (45) , Elizabeth Blanchard (43) and Ellen Batkiss? Blanchard (34).

We know that by 1911 Mabels parents and family had moved to Hixon, Staffordshire.

The house and shop are still in use (shown below) but is now an engineering supply store

In late 1921- Marriage of Mabel Barlow and  William John Myatt at St Thomas & St Andrews Mission Church in the CastleTown area on Stafford.

The church of St. Thomas and St. Andrew was built on South Street in 1866, designed by W. Culshaw of Liverpool. It was built mainly for railway workers living in Castletown. (By 1972 it was redundant and was demolished shortly afterwards.)

14th December 1962 - Mabel passed away, aged 68. She is buried in the old burial ground at St Marys Church, Colton. William was buried with her in 1977.
