1887-1888 John Thomas was born in 1887 or 1888 in Dudley, Worcestershire. He was the youngest son of Charles and Mary Ann Allen (nee Benbow). We are uncertain of the birth registration for him at present. 1891 5th April 1891 - 1891 Census for 'Yawley Street, Dudley'

We have found a record in the 1911 census for a John Thomas Allen of correct age, born in Dudley, who is serving in Bangalorem, Karnataka, India in the Royal Horse Artillery. We think this could be correct as his brother Mark Henry also served in the RHA and RFA.

At the moment we are undecided about the evidence we have for John Thomas after 1911 . There is a 1939 census which lists him as having a wife Florence but the John Thomas we have found married to Florence did so before 1911 which conflicts with his single status in 1911.
